Getting a leg up on Book 2’s Front Cover ART!

Gooood Morning Grey-Ghosters!
Got back to work re-blocking a huge action scene over the weekend – Those are really fun to dream up!
Now I just need a moment to sit and write the silly thing down! wink emoticon
I also got to work on tweaking the front cover again, small but significant details as you can see from our little timeline.

The Great Grey Ghost ART Contest is still ongoing!

Good Morning Grey-Ghosters!
Check out the awesome sketch a Grey-Ghoster sent me yesterday that she is working on for the Grey Ghost Art Contest! I can’t wait to see it when she’s done – (I just love these little variant cover styles!)

And don’t forget the Grey Ghost Art Contest is still going on as we speak, I’ve already received a few amazing pieces that have blown my socks off but it’s still anyone’s ballgame so keep them coming!
I’ll paste the original announcement below to remind everyone of the contest, young or old you still can have your art immortalized (Dramatic Pause…..!) in THE NEXT Grey Ghost novel and win a free signed copy!

Contest Announcement:
Can you Draw? Doodle? Paint? Make amazing Macaroni & Glue pictures? Then this is the contest for you!

One of the fun aspects for me during the writing process for the first novel was taking a break every now and then and working on other parts of the book i.e. the cover, chapter art, Vindicator newspaper’s etc. And while I love that part of the process and I am hard at work on new pieces for the second book, I would really love to see other people’s interpretations of our Ghostly Hero. It’s one of my favorite parts of books; everyone envisions things just a little differently when they read it. And a different view on the Grey Ghost will work perfectly for the new story.

So here you have it Grey-Ghosters, here is your chance to have your art immortalized (haha dramatic much!) in the second novel of the Grey Ghost. You’ve seen little sketches, doodles, covers, paintings, photos and full descriptions in the first novel of what our hero looks like to me but maybe you saw him in your mind a little different, well then, let’s see it!
All I ask is you keep to the feel and good spirited nature of the little world I created. More Clayton Moore’s Lone Ranger than say Frank Milller’s 300.

You can use any media: paint, pencil, markers, crayon, back of a napkin, go crazy! And this contest is open to any level of artist, at any age! (I know I would’ve loved something like this back when I was in school, so tell your kids, grand kids, nieces and nephews!) I will be picking at least two entries as winners. These winning entries will be used as art in the next novel and the artist will be credited in a special “thank you” page in the novel.
Oh and all winning artists will receive a free autographed copy of The Grey Ghost: The Jeweled Kiss Mysteries upon its release. <- Pretty Cool!
I will be putting all entries here on the Nicholas Cara Facebook page and on in a special ‘Grey Ghost Art Project’ folder. As of right now there is no end date set for the contest because I know good art takes time but get working Grey-Ghosters!
To enter send your pieces as an attachment to:

Please include your name, address, and email so I can get back to you in case you win.
Thanks and get drawing Grey-Ghosters!

The Grey Ghost in the Emerald City!

We’re off to see the wizard! The wonderful wiz…. No wait Grey-Ghosters, not ‘THAT’ Emerald City! :-)
Over the weekend Team Grey Ghost packed our bags and headed up to the west coast again to the beautiful state of Washington. More of a family trip than book related but I did sign a copy or two while there AND to get to Seattle from where we were staying in Gig Harbor we had to pass over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge! Any Grey-Ghoster worth their salt here knows how influential that bridge’s history is to the ‘Shadow that Walks’ ( if not, get reading! LOL! ) I couldn’t stop myself from looking at that magnificent structure when we were driving over and envisioning the action – good thing I wasn’t driving! A great weekend full of fun, family, lots of coffee, amazing seafood and believe it or not not a drop of rain!
Well about time I stop running all over the place and get back to work on TJKM, have a great week Grey-Ghosters!
