The Grey Ghost on Svengoolie! (UPDATED!)

Good Morning Grey-Ghosters,

Well I hope your holiday weekend was fun. Mine wasn’t that bad, usual working on the yard, getting dinner with the Mrs., saw the novel on national television, fed the cat, you know a regular fun weekend ………………WAIT backup… did I say “SAW THE NOVEL ON NATIONAL TELEVISION”?

There I was watching my favorite show Svengoolie last Saturday night. He was showing the classic sci-fi flick “The Island Unknown” and then suddenly I see him flipping through a book.

What book you ask? The Grey Ghost: The Shadow that Walks! that’s what book! And suddenly there I am, and then my wife and then even our rubber chicken!

If you remember from early last month, I posted we were able to meet the Legendary Horror Host at Chicago’s C2E2. It was a honor of mine to thank him personally for helping spread the word about our ‘Operation QuarterPenny’ T-shirt sale that I put on a few months ago.

And yes I did notice his crew filming of course but figured he probably had hours of footage for his show. I mean there were some really great costumes and celebrities at the convention so I thought our chances of getting on the show were slim at best. But you can never count out the AWESOMENESS of a member of Team Grey-Ghost and there last Saturday night we were on National Television.

Now believe it or not I actually watch Svengoolie on a pair of rabbit ears on my television so the only way I was able to record this was video taping my television with my phone (I know pretty low tech, what I would’ve given for my old VCR! Kids have your parents explain what that is…LOL) so here is both a trimmed version of the bit and a longer section I was able to get after fumbling with my iPhone along with some screenshots.

UPDATE!:

Good Morning Grey-Ghosters!
Well I got a special treat last night from my friend Jim Roche, the executive producer of the Svengoolie show (Ha! name dropping at it finest! LOL). Jim forwarded me a link to a pristine version of the show segment that The Grey Ghost: The Shadow that Walks was on back at C2E2!
I know, I know, its not to the level of cinematography that my iPhone recording my television was but hey let’s be nice, how could you ever top that amazing ‘Cloverfield/Blair Witch Project’ experience – hahaha!

Thanks so much to Jim and of course the Horror Host with the Most, The Man in the Hat, the great Svengoolie and his crew, what a true treat!

P.S This week’s show is going to be the CLASSIC FILM: Bride of Frankenstein! Don’t miss it!

Grey-Ghosters…. your Villain.

Good Morning Grey-Ghosters!
What a productive weekend! I quickly talked myself into believing that the very little drizzle we got on Saturday made it way too wet to work on the house, so I got hard at work on the sequel again.
I can tell you, the last few weeks have definitely shown me that I’ll never know where inspiration is going to pop up from. Sadly a week ago I was involved in a car accident involving me, a red light and another car not seeing said red light (no worries, everyone was ok, so QUARTERPENNY!) but from that lemon of a day came an amazing scene in the sequel! I literally scribbled it down on the back of the report as the cop and tow truck left, I can’t wait to get that action on paper in the future, and it’s going to be one of those moments only the Grey Ghost can bring you!
Also from nowhere, a doodle of all things sparked an avalanche of ideas last Friday along with an amazing scene that I was able to put to paper this weekend AND this sketch that I refined over the weekend of Minos, our main villain. IMG_3111

Man is it creepy in all the right Grey Ghost world ways! The perfect black hat for the Grey Ghost, (literally!)
For those who know me well you probably are seeing its inspiration, and are saying “See what he did there…” LOL
I wish I could tell you more about the scene I wrote this weekend, it was one of those I couldn’t write fast enough moments where the idea behind the scene was exciting even for the author! But that would be cheating so all I can tell you about the scene is it sets up events for the next two novels, all summed in three words.
JOE.
MAYOR.
HANDSHAKE.
That’s it for now Grey-Ghosters, have a great week!
